The boyz had a great showing on Saturday at our home tourney! Tanner had 2 pins and won the 3rd by a tech. Dalton got his "50th " career win and was listed on the Guillotine as a career milestone for a freshman. He was all excited until he saw the wrestler above him was a senior who has 200 wins. Tabor was a trooper and came home to work the score clock for the tourney.

This week we hosted a tri and the boyz did well on the wrestling mat! Trying to save on Tanner's knee until sections he will be taking some time off from competition. Best decision made but Tanner does NOT agree. Oh well.........Dalton still healthy and on a tear! 21-4 for the season and took home the championship medal this past Saturday in St. Croix. This is the last week of the quarter so the boyz are loaded with homework and studies for finals. 1/21 and 1/28 we host a 6 team tourney in Nicollet that will keep us pretty busy. Papa Cargil sent Tabor on a trip to Lake City to do some CAD work for the mill there. He really enjoys the hands on drafting and its fun to see your children so passionate about something.

Okay the Raiders have had some great luck! We have won 8 straight duals in a row. Tanner has won 7 straight and Dalton has won 13 matches in a row. This week we wrestling Thursday night @ 5 when Medford and Norwood Young America come to Nicollet. Tabor is back in college and the weather couldn't be better! Just keep praying everyone stays healthy and mother nature keeps my grass brown a little longer. Really Jan 9th today and it was 54*........maybe we do live in "God's Country"

I know..........it has been a long time. Well after 7 yrs our desktop computer has died and that is the one I use to blog! OH well one of my techie kids can shop for a new one. Cuz we all know

As always the boyz are keeping us pretty busy. Football ended and we are still healing our wounds but have moved on to wrestling big time! Tanner has taken some time to heal the bone bruise and rip in mcl and is just getting into it again. Tanner recently won the Excel award at school for grades and community involvement. Dalton is leading the team in pins and wins with a 9-4 record. Next week Dalton will lead his knowledge bowl team in the regional meet in Mankato. Tabor has been home on break and working at the mill 24/7 until the 8Th of January. And has a full load of 19 credits for next semester and great news he has made the deans list. Everyone is doing very well and looking forward to 2012. Darin and I have starting making our own wine with another couple. Basically a reason to get together every 4 to 6 weeks and play this great game loaded questions. Darin is pretty sure he is responsible to the super nice weather! We bought a new lawn tractor with a snow blower attachment for up by the house and 2 newer than 1980's snowmoblies.........thus......no snow! Well I think is was all the brand new windows we put in the south side of our home. What every the reason we are so thankful. Best wishes to you and your family for a healthy 2012!

Wow it is hard to believe our baby is 15 today! Where did the time go? Tonight while Darin was out scouting the team that we play Saturday night, Dalton picked 5Guys to eat at then we rented Captain America. And naturally his favorite kind of birthday cake......DQ Ice Cream Cake. Besides being busy with football Dalton's knowledge bowl team took home first place last week. Knowledge bowl is a sparty pants team of kids who excel at academics. Dalton's big gift was a stereo and a trip to Complete Nutrition his favorite store next to Scheels. And yes Dalton is going to be the tallest in our family and he still doesn't like the site of peanut butter anything. Happy Birthday Dalton!

Long Time!

I know.....its been a long time between posts! I thought when one child moved out of the house you would have more time. BOY were we wrong! Okay quick review........Tabor has been out of FB for 3 weeks due to a wonderful enlarged spline and MONO. But back at to as of today! And good news the Warriors have made the playoffs so he is excited to be back at practice full time. Tanner & Dalton have had a whale of a time finishing the regular season @ 7-1 and we will have home seed for all of the playoffs. First game is the 29Th @ 7pm. When we are not on the road or at a game we have been getting ready for winter. Plus we have a couple of remodel projects going on at our home. Busy Busy.....only a month away from Turkey Day.

FOOTBALL...... really is there anything else that is going on in the world?

Things have been very busy the last couple of weeks. Dalton had to step up and is now QB1 for the Raiders. Last Friday night he threw for 293 yards and had 5 touchdowns. ( yes he is only 14) Our BULL, Tanner averages 10 yards a carry. And knows this is his week to have some break out TD's. It's fun to see him be right there to protect his bro. And Tabor is having a great time at college and will be seeing some time at guard. Wow and is coming home this weekend for a short visit.

Just trying to keep it all straight and moving forward is a challenge! But very happy to report all the boyz are getting A's and B's. This weekend we have another BIG road trip to Hills Beaver Creek. Which by the way is only 10 miles from Sioux Falls,SD. Then we will spend the night ans watch Tabor play in Worthington on Saturday at 1:30.

This weekend we covered the state of Minnesota. Down to the Iowa boarder on Friday for a win over the Mustangs of Granada. The Raiders are 2-0 for the season and have Madelia Friday night for our homecoming game. Then Saturday morning we were headed to Ely which is just south of the Canadian boarder. Where the Warriors went to 2-1 with a win over the Ironmen. Yes was a lot of traveling in the van but well worth it! All three boyz are consistently improving week after week. Both will face very tough competition this next week. Keep praying everyone stays healthy!

R U Ready for some football?

Okay I know its been a very long time since the last post but we have logged over 1900 miles in a car running with the kids. Tabor has been at college now for a month and loving it! Yeah! Likes his professors and is learning a lot. The Warriors have 2 games under their belts and are 1-1 so far this season. So excited to see him healthy and wearing old #58 again this year. He is heading in the right direction to have a great year! Next week we make the trip to Ely.

Tanner already has 2 touchdowns and a 2pt conversion in the Raiders first game of the year when we defeated Cleavland 50-27 last Thursday evening. Ready to start school on Tuesday as a Jr taking 3 college courses. And if you haven't seen Tanner in awhile you can tell he was in the weight room for all of the summer.

Dalton is very fortunate and as a freshmen this year played in the 1st quarter in the varsity game and is QB#2 for the Raiders! During the scrimmage he threw 3 td passes for 40 yds each. Dalton this year will be the back up to anyone who needs to come out to get a break. As always we need to keep everyone healthy! Our 9man team only has 18 boys who need to be ready to play at all times!

Darin continues to coach the O-line for the Raiders and has been traveling a lot for Cargill. Next week is the recognition trip for our Horizon Milling Division. So excited to go for a few days to South Carolina! Its homecoming week here at Nicollet and at Ridgewater so we are going for 3 days so we fly back in on Friday afternoon. So another typical weekend is we wear Raider Blue on Friday nights and then on Saturday we make the switch to red and black.

National Night Out

Tuesday night we attended the National Night out in Nicollet. The humidity finally broke ( for a few hours). We gathered up my athletes from school and handed out beads, glow in the dark necklaces and pencils. While boyz were busy mingling with all the little kids and handing out goodies I put on close to 100 temporary sports tattoos. Although each kid kept telling me the same thing.....Mrs.Elliott I can't wait for school to start.........really because I can. It was a very nice evening out and we got tons of excellent complaints. I am sure you can all tell who is in the Blue Morph Suit! He had a great time but did manage to scare a little boy half to death when Tanner asked for a high5. How about these beautiful blue eyed puppies that are ready for new homes? They are so playful now and I am sure the only goal they have each day is to eat the flowers off my plants!

Well the first one has officially moved out of the house! We are so excited for Tabor to start a new chapter of his life. And he's brothers were glad he chose a 90* high humidity day to move as well. Wow was it hot and everyone was moving into today. Two a days start on Monday and next Saturday we have the football parents meeting and meal with coach.

Well I don't know where the time has gone but summer is almost over! Darin had a great birthday on Monday. We took the boys to Tokyo Grill in Mankato and had a great chef. Can't tell by the video but he had a little fireman who wet the grill. The boyz got a kick out of the chef drawing designs with the food and tossed it around. Plus the boyz did the shopping for Darin's gift and did a great job on a new line and reel.

Boyz had another wrestling camp this week and boy has it been hot out! The puppies have grown into these fun and active little Elliott's. It will be hard to part with them but they will only be with us another 2 weeks.

And Tabor is only here for a few more days! We did our final inspection of his apartment today. Okay when Grandma King went to Ridgewater back in the day ( ha- thought I would give up your age didn't you) they called the apartment building "The Pit" I don't think much has changed. Captains practice starts on the 28Th and he will be all moved in on the 30Th.

Darin is out of state for a few days for a trip with Cargil guys. I am sure they are working hard on finding the fish. The expansion here at the Mankato Mill is going very well. Papa Cargil just announced another bonus trip for us! Everybody keep eating bread. Yeah! We know we are going the 3rd week in September but the location is still a secret. I'm excited but lets just say school/football coach is not. Smack dab in the middle of Homecoming week.

Rocky & Pete's puppies are two weeks old and just starting to open their eyes. Rocky is such a good mom! Pete pretty much knows to stay out of the garage or he will get his but kicked by Rocky. Nobody messes with her pups except Dalton. When they were only 2 days old they had their tails and dews clipped. Dalton went into the surgical room to assist while I stayed in the waiting room listening to the high pitched crys from the puppies. With the heat and humidity we moved a fan into the garage to give Rocky some breeze. They basically eat and sleep and yawn a lot. Tripled in size from when they are born. Won't they make great birthday gifts for family members??????

Well finally after 24 hours mom and babies are doing very well. We will be posting more photos when Dalton comes home from camp. We have 4 females(2blue and 2silver) and 2 males one of each color. Tabor lived through a horror story of a trip to the vet's office. And I will be going to town to buy a new purse and the van will be professionally cleaned on Monday. Let's just say those shots and I.V. worked really really fast! Now how many people say they delivered babies while driving?

Okay...Okay no more emails and phone calls about getting the blog up to date. Between the rain events and all the wind we have been pretty busy. Tanner and Dalton have been umpiring games M-Thursday nights and are now off to Auggie Wrestling Camp until Thursday morning. Thursday morning the football bus will pick them up and then its off to Duluth for three more days of camp.

Tabor has bee working full time and enjoying learning the ropes at the mill. He has been doing his football workout at the YMCA after work each day. Only two months left and he'll be off to college. With Tanner gone this week the strawberry patch has been producing lots of berries. I think he ate 5 for every one he put in the bowl.

Dalton spent two days at Jeff Tricky QB camp in Minnetonka last Friday and Saturday. There were many kids from Iowa, Wisconsin and Canada at the camp. Each camper worked with a NCAA college QB and were taped and taught about throwing technique. Outside of the stadium there was parents and coaches who were struggling to find the right player to watch. I thought to myself....."Rookies" every ones know you find your son by looking for his shoes!

We are so waiting for the weather to straighten out so we can head back to the lake! Many of you know we have been waiting ever so patiently for Rocky to have her puppies. As I promised Dalton nothing would go on the blog until he got to see photos first. Any guesses on how many she will have? This morning it was a struggle for her to walk to the end of the driveway and back again so we are getting very close.

Well after a busy weekend of graduation festivities we are looking forward to a quiet day on the lake. Graduation party was a big hit and with all of the extra kids around here the leftovers are almost gone.

With all the hoopla of getting a day off from work we would like everyone to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. All Americans need to say "Thanks" for all those who have fought for this country and for those who are still fighting to keep us safe.

Tabor was is no mood for a picture on his last day of school. He is not so bothered by the last day of high school but more so it might be his last day playing high school sports. Baseball has a big game tonight in Sleepy Eye for the Sub Section Champions @ 5pm. It's been a busy week for Tabor, Monday we had new student orientation at Ridgewater College. Tabor got into all of the classes he wanted to. We got to see his new apartment and it was same place Grandma King lived in when she went to college in Willmar. I guess they changed the name, Grandma said it was called the "PIT" well now it is called Evergreen Estates. So looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday for Tabor's party! From 3 to 6 we are serving up some of Tabor's favorites.

Wow what a cold and wet day in Stillwater! Sorry no pictures of the monsoon the kids rain in. Naturally we get home this afternoon and its sunny and 75*. The boys did a fabulous job, we were so close a couple of times. 4Th place is still pretty good! Way to go Tanner.

Well here it is The KNIGHT/RAIDER Boys Team is heading to STATE! Yahoo this Saturday Tanner will be competing in Stillwater for the boys true team state title. Meet starts early at 10am and the bus will pull out at 6:00am. Wish us LUCK!

Busy Weekend!

Saturday the JV baseball team took 2ND falling to LCWM. Dalton has found his sweet spot for baseball. Wonderful weather to be at the ball park! Then we hosted the After-Prom game show. We had 50 kids who stayed after the dance and partied with until 4:30a.m.! We did "Plinko" Now & Then. Minute to Win it and my favorite "Let's Make a Deal". Darin did his best Drew Carry impression. Tabor was a big winner and won a $500.00 Browning Shotgun, 10 rounds of sporting clays, $50.00 worth of gift cards . He also came home with t-shirts, photo albums and lot's of other stuff. Now we just need to all get caught up on our rest.

Well we got a beautiful day for a track meet. LCWM/Nic Knight Raiders won hands down. Tanner is still wondering if this whole track thing is for him. He loves to run to condition for wrestling but track seems to run just to run and the jury is still out on that one.

A Break in the Weather!

Okay we are finally back playing ball! This week the only night we won't be at the ball park or track meet is Monday night. So a busy week for the Elliott Boyz! Tabor's varsity team is 2-1 and Dalton's JV team is 1-1. We have so many make up games to get in due to the rain. Tanner's track team keeps taking 2ND place and each time he competes he improves his personal best. Tuesday night all 3 boyz are in Lake Crystal so hopefully we'll have some track snap shots to show off. Today it only got up to the upper 40*'s. Come on where is the warm weather?

Okay so seriously stop with the rain already! This week M-F we were to have a total of 10 home games. Well today is Thursday and we have not played a game yet! And good news it is over cast and starting to sprinkle again. We had big plans to go on a over night trip to D.L. this weekend but that is looking like a bust because all these games are going to be Friday and Saturday. The area schools are going to have a meeting next Tuesday to decide what we can do to get all these kids back out on the diamonds and tracks. Today , Tanner is going to Maple River for track and Bubba & Dalton are at home vs. Maple River.

The Dish Gala

Papa Cargill called on Tuesday and requested Darin attend the the Second Harvest "Dish Gala" in St. Paul. I thought "OH wonderful a evening out~ Yahoo" then reality set in when we hear it was a formal event. (Yikes, new suit here we come)
Well it turned out to be a wonderful evening. Cargill sponsor the entertainment so we sat front and center for Comedian Tom Papa {host of Marriage Ref & various movies} Hilarious is the only word to describe him. Cargill had three tables for the event with different business units being represented for their work with Second Harvest Food Self.
We sampled foods from 12 executive chefs from the cities. All types of great food from braised short ribs over polenta to crepes with salmon. On each end of the ballroom were ice sculptures that they poured either pomegranate martini's or lemon drop martini's.
Interesting group of people at the Gala and naturally it was fun to people watch. Ladies the small evening handbags are no longer in at these formal events............everyone needs to get huge loud colored bags to go with their little black dresses. They also had a live auction that had 10 items on it and they received $5,000.00 for 2 (yes only 2) tickets to see Tim McGraw in concert with a meet & greet. Once again very lucky to work for Cargill and I hope I remember that the next time the Mill calls at 3 am........... Have a blessed Good Friday!

Sunday at the Lake!

Well we took the plunge......no the water is still too cold! We took the boyz to see our new lake place on Ballintyne Lake we leased. 20 miles for door step to door step and a great view with a large sand beach. Ballintyne Lake is about 12 miles from Mankato. When we were there we saw just one boat out fishing. This week they will get the dock & fire pit set up. Once the dock is in we will be able to take the boat out. It's hard to believe these trailers come with AC /Satellite/Showers and Bedrooms. Long cry from the old pop up camper we use to have! With graduation coming we probably won't get to the lake too much before the 1st of June. But enough times the boyz can figure out where the fish are biting before the Grandparents come to check it out.

Some more images from Dad's auction last week. Not often you can go to a water front auction and purchase high quality farm equipment. Can you believe the old basketball hop from the farm could only bring 2 bucks and a car caddy with some misc tools made in China could bring $15. They obviously didn't realize the Elliott boys used that basket ball rim. The top was worn, but the paint on the inside of the rim (where the ball should wear the paint as it goes through) looked brand new.

Baseball Season got into FULL swing last Thursday with Tabor and the varsity hanging 15 runs on LeCenter/Cleveland and Dalton and the 8th grade team hanging on in the last inning for a 6 to 5 victory. Tabor wears double zero and will be patrolling the outfield for the Raiders this spring. Tabor was 2 for 3 in the opener with a walk, 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored. He was lifted int he 4th inning so the freshman could get some varsity playing time (with no JV game coach brought the freshmen/sophomore with).

Dalton wears #7, just like his favorite baseball player (Joe Mauer) and plays catcher. Dalton will be playing with the 8th grade team and the JV this year, there are seven 8th graders that will be playing up to help fill out the JV along with the 3 freshmen and 1 sophomore, needless to say they will take a few lumps this year on the JV squad, but with 8 seniors on the varsity, these 8th graders will need that JV experience as they will be called upon to play varsity next year.

Tanner has 2 track meets in so far this season and he is enjoying himself. He runs the 800 and what ever relay the coaches ask him to. He ran in the 4X400 relay on Friday and declares anyone that enjoys the 400 as crazy (After telling him his grandpa and uncle John both ran the 400 he was sure he was correct) but it may have had something to do with running the 800 10 minutes before the relay and missing a week of practice due to the Chicago trip and the auction. Looking forward to outdoor track meets as Tanner has been practicing for the pole vault and has been waiting to unleash his new skills after getting some outdoor practice in a real pole vault pit.

Today Grandpa Elliott had his auction sale in Grandin, ND. The weather warmed up to 45* and the people came out!

Darin got the last registered number#220. It will be nice to have Grandpa enjoy retirement! We will post more photos later! Congratulations Grandpa!

Lake Shore property!

Lake shore view.......... okay probably for another week or two. The snow is almost gone and the low spot in the back yard has turned into a lake. Today we got up to 57* but as the day went on it quickly got over cast and windy.

We have added to our hunting family as you can see. Can't wait for the boyz to get home to help name her. Her papered dam name is Bella. But the males in this house think that it is not a good hunting name when we are out in the field. Pete is just tickled to have a friend to chase around. She is a silver weimarnier and has to learn how to be a outside dog in a kennel. She came from a home where they let her sit in on your lap. She gets a bit irritated that every time she sets her rawhide down Pete chows it down. But she's learning and she loves to sit on the deck and watch all the Canadian geese fly by.

For the next the next four days Tanner and Dalton traveled with 50 plus other NPS band and choir students to Chicago. They will preform at 4 different locations and see the sites. Tonight they will get to see a performance by the "Blue Man Group"

Spring Sports

Okay so it says it Spring outside......Really? Like everyone else we are waiting for it to warm up so we can get outside. Tanner is going to give track another shot this spring. We had our first meet(inside thank God) at Mankato State. He runs the 800 meter and does the pole vault.

Tabor and Dalton are getting a little tired of baseball practice in the gym. The first game is on the 7Th of April and it looks like we will only have one 50* day before the game. I'm pretty sure those first few games will be postponed and we will be at the park 4 nights a week for a month straight.

Tanner and Dalton head out for a band and choir trip to Chicago Wednesday morning and will return Sunday. Tabor is looking forward to being an only child for a few days. He then was reminded how the only child would have to haul all the wood in.

Well wrestling got over the boyz spent 3 days in the cities at state and saw some amazing matches. Then its on to Girls Basketball. Between playoff games the boyz have been lifting weights and getting ready for Spring sports which by the way start on MONDAY. How about my girls? We are so excited tonight we travel to MSU in Mankkato to take on Martin Luther HS for a chance to go to STATE! GBB has not went to state in over 30 years here in Nicollet. # 33 is my Youth Service student at school and the 3 up front our my seniors. The boyz have all kinds of Crazy Raider outfits planned for the game and Darin has promised the girls to DYE his beard Raider BLUE! Game starts at 6 wish us luck!

Wow talk about ending the season on a HIGH! The boyz all had an amazing finish to the season. Tabor placed 6Th (only wrestling 30 matches his entire career). Tanner finished 5Th having the most pins for the weekend and season. Dalton finished 6Th as an 8Th grader in section 4a. So we have some more hardware for the fireplace! Now the race is on to see who can gain the most weight by the wrestling banquet. The boys have made plans to go to eat at the "OLD COUNTY BUFFET" and clean them out. Well only a couple weeks off then its on to the next sport. Tanner starts track on the 14Th. ( yes he wants to run) Tabor and Dalton will then start baseball on the 21st. The first indoor track meet is on March 22nd and the first baseball game is April 7th.

Wow this past Monday Tabor turned 18. Yikes that means Mom & Dad are getting OLD! Tabor is getting ready to leave the nest and be done with High School.

We all know Bubba's passion is football but late in the season he is having some big success with wrestling. This senior is in his first full year of wrestling and is seeded at #4 in the section. Tonight the Raiders travel to St. James for a two day brawl to see who is going to state. Both younger brothers are both seeded @ 6Th. Check out knuj.net for wrestling updates tonight.

Valley Conference Tourney

Our wrestling season is coming to a end. Yesterday the Raiders traveled to Sherburn ( almost in Iowa) for the Valley Conference Wrestling Tourney. All the Raider boyz had a good showing.

Tanner was back on the mat for the first time in over two weeks. Unfortunately( for the other guy) he faced the same wrestler from Maple River that hurt his elbow. That poor sole won the match but left with a smashed nose, missing two front teeth from the last time they meet and now will have to wrestle with a mask. On the bright side Tanner's elbow feels good so he's back full time.

It is truly so much fun to watch Tabor wrestle! He has only been wrestling for a year and wow has he improved. But he makes us all laugh when he knows he's going to win he smiles and waves to the camera! He's having fun too but can't weight( he's lost 35 lbs from the end of fb) to start getting ready for football. He signed his letter of intent with Ridgewater and is now an official "Warrior".

Then we have Dalton, those of you who haven't seen him in a while will be surprised to see how TALL this kid has gotten! I hope he grows into those LONG arms. As an 8Th grader he pull out some big wins and too 3rd place in the conference with only one loss. He came home with some nice hardware to hang on the fireplace along with a black eye.

The Raiders travel to LCWM on Thursday for our last team dual for sections and then its individuals on the 25Th in St.James for a chance to head to STATE. I sure hope this warm weather continues. Darin is off to Texas next week for work.

Okay you would think with all the snow days we have had lately we would have found time to update the blog. UMMM NOPE

This week the boyz have missed two day of school due to another storm. Let's just stay away from that subject cuz it makes everyone crabby!

Tabor had the honor of being elected to the snow court. As you can see in the photo's he's trilled(not so much plus he had to attend the dance)

Everyone is doing really well in wrestling! Tanner had some bad luck and hurt his elbow so he is out of a couple of weeks until he gets healed up. (another subject that makes everyone upset) For those of you who know wrestling Dalton has mastered the spellable. I hope to get a video of it tonight when we travel to St.Clair for a wrestling dual.

We are so looking forward to having a free weekend with nothing planned. Okay the only plan is for the boyz to blow more snow and haul more firewood. How many days till SPRING?

The Raiders went 3-1 this weekend at our own tourney. Tonight we host Maple River in a conference dual. Then Thursday we travel to power house LCWM to dual with the knights. Then Saturday we are back to a full tourney with another 6 teams. Tabor went 3-1 for the day, Tanner 3-1 and Dalton 2-2.

Okay I know its been awhile! Well if we are not in a gym watching wrestling we are snowed in at home. This crazy weather has a person thinking " WHY DO I LIVE HERE?"

The boyz have had some great wrestling matches and we have some Championship medals hanging by the fire place. Last weekend we were at St.Croix HS in the cities where the boyz all placed. Dalton took 1st place and Tanner 5Th and Bubba picked up a 4Th all after competing in a 9 team tourney.

Darin is busy at work with budgets due and looking for a new assistant manager ( Mike got a transfer back to his home state of NY)

The boyz just finished up finals this week and are looking forward to celebrating "Snow Week" 1/24-1/29. In fact Tabor is one of three boys up for Snow King.

As for myself I'm finally in a walking boot making several trips to town a week having PT. Still needing crutches and walker. They told me this week it will be at least another month.

I've been sorting some photos the boyz took during Christmas and found these of Khloe and Dalton playing in the tent and tube.

Okay I better get to bed.... we are back at the gym for more wrestling by 7:30 am for our own Raider Rumble tourney.

Big Night for Raider Wrestling

We traveled to Woodbury last night and had some great surprises! Who knew that Hans was the head wrestling coach for Eastridge? Kim & Fiona came down the bleachers to surprise us! Oh she is the cutest baby girl and I got to hold her most of the night. Love her thick hair, Jackie I hope you enjoy her video saying hello! The Raiders were spot on last night. PIN,PIN,PIN. We beat Edison 75-3, then Roosevelt 78-0 and ended the evening beat Eastridge 54-18. All 3 Elliott boys came away with great pins and we are already way ahead of last years wins.

This weather has been a big pain! We are getting out of school at 12noon today because of poor visibilty again. So that means hours on the phone trying to rebook all these events. So no wrestling tonight.

After braking my bones I have just a couple of things that I have started I really enjoy. Having my niece sing to me over the phone a few times a week. ( yes, Khloe drops the phone when she does the actions to the song) And the other is emailing Uncle John about his travels during war. Keep in mind Elliott's are less than photogenic so it's nice to have him send us them. That's John crossing a irrigation canal. I think he has eaten enough GOAT and sheep for all of us over there. On the bright side ( if there is one in war) Uncle John and team are in very good spirits getting the job done. So as your family gets ready to feast on a Christmas dinner say a quick prayer for Uncle John and his company!

Saturday and Sunday Tanner's Keynote preformed "The Madrigal Dinner". This was right up Tanner's alley ( but he should had been the court jester) He had lots of one liner zingers for the crowd. First team duals of the season. Nicollet hosted a team triangular with MCW and USC last night and split the pair of home duals. All 3 boyz picked up the win in the first dual and Nicollet won the dual 39 - 21 versus Martin County West. United South Central was a little tougher. Dalton lost to a junior at 125, before Tanner picked up the 1st 6 team points of the dual with a pin at 130 (Tanner finished the day with 2 pins and 12 team points). Tabor received a forfiet in first dual and then lost by pin in the 2nd dual after leading by 4. Overall a great night of wrestling for the Raiders, these boys have come a long way from last season and you could see the improvement from last weekend tourney to these duals. Shakopee tourney for today was canceled do to a few snow flakes, plumetting temps and 35+mph winds (sitting in computer room and can't see the mailbox at the end of the driveway, not good). But at least the TV and computer still works. Next week the Boyz have a Triangular with River Valley and LeSure/Henderson on Tuesday and Mankato West/Rochester John Marshall on Thursday and then they are off until Jan 6th.

Well I finally have a hard "Raider Blue" cast on. Big improvements over the last 24 hours. I went to work for a couple of hours. I have a whole collection of hardware to help me get around like my walker, electric scooter and wheelchair at school. I am still stuck on the lower level at home but its a goal to see the kitchen by Sunday. ( did you hear that boyz you have until then to CLEAN) I will be in this cast until Dec. 30Th and then I will have another shorter cast for another 3 weeks. Then its walking boot and PT to find out what type of range of motion I will have in my ankle. Sounds like the weather is going to take a turn for the worst! Come on 12 to 16 inches of snow for us. The boyz have a big Dual tonight Vs. MCW and hoping the Raiders can pin a few kids.

Well on Saturday we got Tamara out of the house for the Raiders season opening wrestling tourney at Lakeville North 16 team individual. It was a good start for the Raiders versus some very good class AA and AAA schools. Tanner was 2-2 on the day for a 6th place finish at 130lbs, Dalton was 1-2 and lost to a sophmore in the final seconds at 125lb and Tabor was 1-1 at 215lb. So we have the 1st win and lose out of the way for all 3. Dalton will be wrestling varsity all year as the #1 125 pounder, not bad as an 8th grader, but he also saw plenty of varsity action last year at 112lbs so he is not intimidated wrestling kids older than him. Tanner is a very aggressive wrestler and some times that can come back and bite him. In the 5th place match he was up 6-0 with 45 seconds to go and instead just riding out the clock he went for the takedown and got stuck in a headlock and got pinned. Something he will be able to work on at the 6AM practice on Monday. Yes the boys practice and lift weights before school 3 days a week and then practice technique after school 5 days a week. Next up is a home dual with MCW on Friday and a 8 team tournament on Sat. in Shakopee. Tamara get her hard cast on Tuesday, which should give her much better mobility, as the soft splint doesn't give her much protection.

Friday morning mom slipped on the ice and broke her ankle. She ended up getting a plate, 7 screws and spent 2 nights in the hospital. She will be very limited in movement until next Tuesday when she can get a full cast. Right now she has a soft splint because of the swelling and the slightst movement can cause great pain. It will be 3 weeks in the hard cast, before she gets a weight bearing walking cast, which she will need to wear for a full month, so it will be a total of 8 weeks in a cast. We are lucky for all of our friends who have brought us over food (Julie is the greatest), clothes that will fit over the cast and a used walker(thanks Kathy). Along with the many flowers and calls. Mom has moved into the photo room on the main level until she gets her hard cast becuase it is not worth the risk of going up and down the stair on crutches. She has a bed, recliner, TV and her array of chargers for the laptop and cell phone, so drop her an e-mail or give her a call. Christmas and the start to wrestling season is going to be a challenge but I think we will be able to help her make it work, cause that's what Elliott's do, roll up your sleves and make the best of what you have.

Well here is our other surprise Tabor was named All Conference! He had an outstanding season on both sides of the ball, with a blocking percentage of 85.18%. The 0.18% is needed because teammate Taylor Rudenik finished the year at 85.05%, so Tabor led the team in blocking for the 2nd year in a row. He was nominated for lineman of the year for conference awards, but came in 2nd in voing. Defensively this is the 1st year since 9th grade Tabor got to play sugnificant minutes and he showed he was up to the task, being 2nd on team in sacks with 8 and frustrated opposing guards. For a very exposive offensive team it is an honor to get this award as the only offensive linemen from Nicollet and one of two defensive linemen to receive this honor.

Tabor is narrowing down his choose for college next fall and is looking at Junior colleges that will allow him to extend his footall career a few more years.

Wow what a week! This morning it has been nice just taking a deep breath in and relaxing! Yes, we lost but the boyz had a fabulous season! This is the last time Tabor will be a Raider Football Captain. But knowing that all three boyz got to play together for so many games will give them something to talk about for years to come.

Darin & the Boyz along with many other football players went to the DOME yesterday to take in some football. The team and coaches all get in free because we made it to STATE! They have been staying at a hotel next to the MOA. I decided not to go because my girls ( yes, I have 14 girls) started basketball practice this week and I have a boat load of work to get done!

Even though we are not playing the excitement is still happening! We will have a couple of great announcements shortly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best part of my job is when colleges contact me about our NPS kids! We have so many talented young people with really bright future's. Then the icing on the cake is they want your own son.

BUT... Monday we start wrestling. And then in two weeks we are up in the cities wrestling in a tournament. No rest for the Elliott's

Well when we sub our starters out of the game starting in the second quarter and start putting 8Th graders in.....sorry your starters can't score against us........so the score Wednesday night was 53-0. For every game we win we post a new football helmet on the "Rudenick Bus" for all to see. But as the playoffs start who knows what will happen. We just need to take every play one at a time because we know that anytime our season could be done. We just need to keep everyone healthy and be thankful for the time we have on the field!

With my JOB it cuts down on my ability to carry my camera at home events but we are so blessed to have so many friends willing to send us photos! Last week we did a breast cancer event and Tabor's jersey was auctioned off to this young lad. He paid $10.00 to wear Tabor's jersey at the game last Friday night. Homecoming skits were pretty funny as well. They thought it was pretend glasses of water but it was real and right down Bubba's pants! Dalton taking his first varsity snap as QB handing it off to Big Brother Tanner. The Seniors who played volleybat Monday night. Only three boyz helped the girls. YEAH it's MEA break Thursday and Friday. NO SCHOOL YIPPEE SKIPPY!

It might be a day or two before we have time to post some photos but........Homecoming theme this week was "Nothing Greater than a Raider". RAIDERS WENT TO 7-0. But the big story of the night was all 3 Elliott Boyz made Nicollet History! All 3 on the field during a varsity game. Yahoo. Dalton got the node to be QB1 in the 4th quarter and completed 4 of 5 passes. And Big Brother Tabor kept him safe as he handed the ball off to older brother Tanner just short of a TD. Raiders won 47-0 over Truman. Off to opening pheasant hunting!!!!!

I don't even know where to start......

Last week we had a close one against Hills Beaver Creek! But the boyz finally showed up to play and won by one pt. Grandma King and Khloe celebrated a birthday. Hard to believe our niece is TWO! It was fun to see her play with all my old dolls. Karter ( our poultry whisper ) and his flock of Turkeys was another site to see. The weather has been just short of amazing and hopefully we will continue so everyone can get the crops out. Last night we traveled to Westbrook Walnut Grove and put a spanking on them. Tanner finally got the start on varsity! Dalton played the last 6 minutes of the varsity game as well. And then there is poor Tabor..........he had to line up against #51 and he threw up all over Tabor 2 times. They stopped the game 3 times to try and clean up the field. Ref told me to wash my son in bleach and get him a new mouth guard. I was thankful to have my volleyball girls at the game and willing to go up to the gas station to buy hand sanitizer and salt. So the MSHL we be receiving a complaint to have this team/coach and player reprimanded. This kid even got sick on our football. So lucky me, we need to put bleach on all the football equipment. Busy week of sports for the Elliott's and to top if off its HOMECOMING! Games on Tuesday,Thursday and Friday. The Raider's are still undefeated and last nights win secured the home field advantage for playoffs on 10/30. We need to keep all these boyz healthy!

Monday night Dalton's team traveled to JWP to take on the Bulldogs(puppies). They fell short 18-14. Dalton passed for one touchdown and ran in another plus the extra points. With all the rain we have a Tremendous amount of bugs as you can see by the photo's! Dalton came out for around 2 plays. He had a couple of nice punts and his throws have become a lot better. Thursday night they are home at 4:30 against Alden Conger then he will get to dress again for the Varsity game Friday night. Friday night Hills Bever Creek comes to town and they have the same record.4-0. This will be a HUGE test for the Raiders!

More Roads Closed

Will it every end! It has been 3 days since it rained last and we contintue to take on water in the area. Another portion of Highway 169 in southern Minnesota has been closed because of rising floodwaters. An 11-mile stretch of Highway 169 immediately west of the Minnesota River is now closed from Le Sueur to St. Peter, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. This means Highway 169 in now closed from Henderson to Mankato. This recent closure makes St. Peter unreachable by state highway. MnDOT said both the Highway 169 closure from St. Peter to Le Sueur is so crews can reinforce the dike built along Highway 169 north of St. Peter. This has made out quiet road from our home a major freeway! Keep praying for sunshine and and wind to dry everything out. Farmers are wondering if they will ever get the crops out.

The 8Th ( yes, I said 8Th graders) Kept the score 48-20. Dalton got to play Varsity with his big brothers. More later it's time to get some rest!

Busy week of football for the boyz. Dalton had a Jr High game in Nicollet on Thursday vs. Cleveland. The Raiders fell short of time with the score 13 -8. Dalton has one heck of a cannon for an arm. Next Friday we celebrate Senior Night for this years graduating football players when JWP comes to town.

The Raiders are 3-0 and tied at 23 Pt's for 1st place in the conference with Truman. It is exciting to see all the boyz play both sides of the ball. Bubba is a force to be reckoned with the field, QB1 and Bubba have a deal that if Tabor stops the sacks QB1 buys the pizza. So far Tabor has two pizzas coming. Tanner is seeing more and more time on the field wanting to earn himself a starting spot on defense. Those poor players see him coming and they think he can hurt a fly then...........lights out buddy! Just keep praying we keep everyone healthy!

Yesterday, Dalton's team traveled to GHEC (Granada,MN about 10 miles from Iowa) they beat the Mustangs 18-16. Dalton ran in two touch downs (one for 51 yards) and threw the 3rd for 15 yards. The Raiders needed a yard to get a first down so they ran a qb keeper and Dalton shook off two tackles to score. We have 28 kids out for Jr High FB and only 16 out for Varsity.

NPS is off to a great start with ALL of our team undefeated! Everyone has a winning record going into the 3rd week of play. From Jr High vb to Varsity the Raider's are red hot! Friday night we travel to Madelia to take on the Black hawks. Rankings came out and FB is ranked 2ND in the state for 9-man.

Everyone is looking forward to have a night off! But we need to start picking pumpkins & squash before the rain moves in. Where is that Indian Summer?

Today gave us a quick look at the 2010 Raider Football team. It was a beautiful morning and glad to have a breeze to keep the kids cooled off. Tabor is in the blue practice pants and Tanner is the one carring the ball. Today Dalton was the eye in the sky. Tonight after we finish making salsa we will break down game film from the day and see what we or who we need to work on. We are only 4 days away from the first game. Only fitting that we ended the year on Turf and will begin 2010's season on Turf at GAC. Go RAIDERS!

Wow we have had one very busy week. Trying to get a few small remodel projects done before school gets started. The boyz have just completed the 2ND week of football practice. The team is still working with some new kids & jr. high coach. Saturday we travel to the Southern Confederacy Scrimmage in Madelia. Then you toss in a little yard work, canning tomatoes, cukes, beans and then wonder where did the time go? We are after Tabor to get a couple of colleges picked out to tour, naturally we will plan them for some Saturdays so we can get in a college football game in. The boyz are only one week away from the 1st football game of the season!

Well it's the night before football practice. No one can sleep, everyone is excited.......piles of football equipment clutter the family room. Are you ready for some RAIDER FOOTBALL? We all know what happened last year. Just a memory ..........it is time to prepare for the next play.

We thought we share a few tidbits from Vikings training camp this week. Ya know things you didn't hear on the news or ESPN.

#10. They have record number of attending this years camp. ( Tamara & Dalton got in line on Thursday shortly after 7am and they were #400 & #401) Over 6,000 people a day. Viking Villeage opens at 8:30 each day and practice starts at 9.

#9. They have a new drill for the O-Line to do for when AP drops the ball. ( They roll soccer balls at they at a high rate of speed and try to pick them up)

#8. Four no-names, want-a-bee's went out for some Mankato Night life and over indulged on some beverages. So "Chilly" suspends them for 3days. But they still have to be a practice acting as water boys.

#7. A neighbor boy from our town of Campbell is working at training camp. ( Jared Hensch)

#6. Holy cow T-Jack still sucks as a QB

#5. With temps in the 90*'s fans still show up wearing chew-ba-ka suits, paint their faces and scream at the players to get their attention.

#4. Steve Hutchinson has scratched his mosquito bites so badly he has to have a trainer look at them. Hello Hutch~ Dah, have you not been to MN before or heard of west Nile disease?

#3. Yep its true, AP doesn't have to practice if he doesn't want to or sign auto graphs.

#2. In my opinion " Jared Allen" is the man at camp.

#1. The Vikes are still selling #4 fb jersey's at camp.( we are still holding out 4-Farve)

Clean Slate

Yeah! The "Destruction" Company finally came to take the old shed down that fell this spring with the last snowfall. In under 6 hours they had the whole shed gone and leveled the site for our new building. Tabor and Tanner where not home to see it go because they have been do some "destruction" of their own. They where hired by a teacher at school to tear shingles off (Mr.C's home). We all hope this heat and humidity clear out of here!

What a terrible day! Farve to retire say it isn't so!!!!! For sale 2 Farve viking football jerseys, preseason tickets , large amount of viking clothing. Tomorrow we will post a help wanted ad for a quarterback! Camp will be like a funeral tomorrow and we all know the Vikings Suck again!
