All good things must come to an end and so did our 08 season of football
The Raiders found it very hard to make something happen with the passing game. This young Raider team found themselves needing a freshmen to QB the team for the last two weeks of the season. They stepped up to the challenge but came up short in the end. 0-18 The Elliott's had an amazing season! I don't know who had the best time.......I got to take photo's on the sideline for every game........Tanner and Dalton helped with water and ball boy duties at every game..........Darin has such a passion for coaching these kids for the past 12 weeks and then there was Tabor.......It was amazing to watch the transformation Bubba had over the past 3 months. He was a team leader in tackles on JV, he gave 100% every game, he earned a starting spot on the varsity offensive line for game 4 of the season and never gave it back and he developed this sweet cut block! The boys had to handle a tough loss but as a parent you were so proud to see your son's be a part of that RAIDER BROTHERHOOD. We want to thank our family members who traveled many miles to see the team play 5 out of 10 games. It meant a lot to the kids and many community members commented to us how we have a supportive family. No rest for the Elliott family deer hunting season starts next Saturday and goes for 2 weeks. Then on the 21st we jump into Basketball and Wrestling.

Raiders advance to the Section Championship game after a tough fought 7 - 6 victory over the rival Cleveland Clippers. It was a defensive game as both teams had trouble moving the ball with any consistency. It was a 45 yard pass play that got Nicollet out in the lead in the 2nd half and the defense was able to stop the 2 point conversion on Cleveland's score to seal the victory. As you can see Tabor had his hands full blocking Cleveland's biggest player. We missed a few opportunities to put this one out of reach early in the 2nd half, but were able to buckle down on defense to hold on. Jason, Angie and Collin came down to give Tabor a raucous cheering section and if you ask Collin he will tell you Tabor's not so tough cause he tackled him several times before the game. And then gave him a high five that just about tipped him over. Friday we are off to Alden/Conger to get pay back for the double overtime loss we had 3 weeks ago. Winner will advance to the state quarterfinals game held at SMSU in Marshall MN. We are hoping for a very Happy Halloween.

Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole... Elliott Boyz were in attendance as the Mavericks of Mankato State put a whoopin on UND. With 3 short handed goals (one was an empty netter when UND was skating 6 on 3 late in the 3rd) the final score was 5 - 1. Also got a chance to visit with the Kividt's who were down from Campbell all dressed up in their green and white. Mrs. Kividt was all 3 boyz 2nd grade teacher and Mr. Kividt was the business and computer teacher. There youngest Michael was down at SWSU in Marshall for a campus visit. Tabor and a buddy have the tickets for tomorrow night and it should be a good one. Game got a little chippy at the end and I would imagine there will be a few hard penalties to start out Sat's game. There was no Football tonight as it is MEA weekend and we will host a 2nd round play-off game next Sat night as we earned the #2 seed and a bye for 1st round action on Tues. Win 2 game and go to State. The 2 teams we will play, 1 we beat in week #1 and the other we lost to in double OT by 2, so should be fun if we can put a couple of good ones together.

It was a cold dark night for the Raiders in Westbrook/Walnut Grove. With temps in the 40*s and a brisk wind from the north the boys had a hard time handeling the ball. With this game behind us we look forward to the playoffs. The Raiders have a bye on Tuesday night and then will play Saturday Oct 25th ( Dalton's B-Day) at home.
